She is so flexible and willing to go with what you want, but will definitely give you guidance if you need it and allow you to make the choices that are best for you. Her demeanor, and her knowledge and experience, did so much to help my husband and I to feel safe, comfortable, and capable throughout the delivery process. Although we chose to have an unmedicated birth in the hospital, and in the time of COVID no less, we both felt completely supported, and always felt that our choices would be respected. We would absolutely recommend working with Lucia, and hope to work with her again if we’re lucky enough to have a second baby in the future. She was proactive in ensuring that I had the medical care I needed, and that we felt comfortable asking for alternatives, or refusing care where necessary. Lucia was actually our back-up doula, and wouldn’t you know that baby chose to come the very night our primary doula was camping with her family. Nevertheless, we sincerely would not change a thing.
